The Coalition for Human Rights & Democracy in Bangladesh (CHRD Bangladesh) had its first international seminar on July 18, 2021. The topic of discussion was The Destruction of Democracy in relation to Human Rights, Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of the Press in Bangladesh.
Keynote Speaker:
Mahmudur Rahman: Member, Advisory Board, Coalition for Human Rights and Democracy in Bangladesh. Eminent personality, widely known as persecuted editor of the Amar Desh, author of several books, Bangla and English, engineer, businessman, former Energy Adviser to Khaleda Zia Govt, with the status of a state minister, former Chairman of National Investment Board, who is loved by the people for his resolute stand against fascism and hegemonism, and whose YouTube interviews are watched by a large number of people.

Anis Ahmed: National Director, Bangladeshis for Biden National Council, an official part of the Biden-Harris Campaign team, US. Former Commissioner Governor’s Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs and South Asian American Affairs State of Maryland. Former lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court, went to the United States on a Fellowship on American and International Law in 1984.
Mr. Ahmed has organized and moderated many national and state’s high-level events. Among notable events, he organized and moderated 3 (three) seminars in collaboration with White House-AAPI during President Barack Obama’s administration. Mr. Anis Ahmed was listed in the Major US National Media as Who’s Who US-AAPI leaders endorsed Biden-Harris for the 2020 US election.

Rieta Rahman: Member, Advisory Board, Coalition for Human Rights and Democracy in Bangladesh. MP candidate for BNP in 2018 election, of course Hasina made sure that she did not win. Daughter of Mashiur Rahman Jadu Mia, former Senior Minister (Prime Minister) in Zia Govt. Former journalist in English newspapers, and her husband is a former Ambassador.
