Aequitas Review is a platform for the analysis, research and discussion on matters of politics, human rights, law and international relations as it primarily relates to Bangladesh, the United States and the persecution of people globally. We are an independent, issue-based and thought provoking forum intended for meaningful examination of policies and decisions which shape our world. We strive to combat oppression of people in any way, shape or form through our analyses and research.

Aequitas is the Latin concept of justice, equality, symmetry and fairness and with this in mind, we remain guarded against sensationalism and true to the concept of justice.

We are a US based, nonprofit organization.

Sabria Chowdhury Balland ( Editor-in-Chief )

Sabria Chowdhury Ballland is a political analyst writing on the political matters of the United States and Bangladesh in international publications. She is the co-author and editor of Bangladesh: A Suffering People Under State Terrorism (Peter Lang, 2020). A former elected member of the US Democratic Party Abroad, she is currently a board member of The Right to Freedom, a Washington, DC based nonprofit organization working toward peace and democracy in Bangladesh. She has a degree in International Relations from Pepperdine University and Marymount College. She has a Masters Certification in International Trade Law from the American University of Paris, France. She is currently co-authoring her second book on Bangladesh.

Zoglul Husain

Zoglul Husain is a London-based writer and political commentator and a former columnist constantly campaigning for freedom, democracy, justice human rights and harmonious development in Bangladesh. He has appeared many times in Bengali language television talk shows in London, speaking on the political affairs of Bangladesh. A retired computer consultant with a Masters degree in Mathematics, he left his PhD studies in the UK to travel to Kolkata, India in 1971 to join the Independence War in Bangladesh.

Zeeba Amina Ahmed Al Ghazi

Zeeba Amina Ahmed Al Ghazi was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh to a noble and well known family in the country. Her father, Barrister Akhtaruddin Ahmed, was from the respectable Ghazi family of Barisal, a southern province of Bangladesh. Her mother is the granddaughter of Nawab Sir Salimullah of Dhaka.

She studied Economics and Business Management in England. She decided to work for Early Years of Children’s Education and completed her Montessori Teachers Degree from St. Nicholas Montessori College London.

She successfully established three Early Years Learning Centers in London and one in the US. Zeeba then decided to move to Bangladesh and established several successful businesses.

Coming from a family of politicians and following the footsteps of her father, grandfather and great grand fathers, in 2008 she joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party to be active in politics. She is a member of the National Executive Committee, the first Vice President of the Women’s Wing and a member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the BNP. Zeeba is an active Human Rights Activist.

With further training on Global Politics, she is working as a political analyst for the Middle East, Asia, South East Asia and Asia Pacific.

Ghulam M. Suhrawardi

Ghulam M. Suhrawardi is the publisher of the South Asia Journal and the President and CEO of NMCI Group, based in the US.
