Statement To End Israel’s Devastating War Against The Palestinians by CHRD Bangladesh

The Coalition for Human Rights & Democracy in Bangladesh (CHRD Bangladesh) urges an urgent ceasefire of the devastating Israeli war against the Palestinians in the tiny Gaza Strip.

CHRD Bangladesh also requests all parties, including the United States and the United Nations, to seriously engage in finding a lasting solution to the decades-old crisis that has already claimed hundreds of thousand lives and sent millions to be hapless refugees around the world, in addition to other related miseries.

The present carnage started when Israel claimed to have been attacked on October 7, 2023 “from the land, sea and air.” Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement in Gaza, said it had fired 5,000 rockets as part of its “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.” The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) immediately launched “Operation Iron Swords” to annihilate the Palestinians. Victims in Israel included people from 29 countries, including the US, which sent its forces in support of the IDF.

The IDF has since kept pounding the tiny Gaza strip with their tanks, heavy artillery, missiles and airstrikes. The tiny strip of the defenseless Palestinians has already been reduced to a graveyard of concrete. A few thousand people–men, women and children–were consigned to graves and manyof the thousands wounded kept wailing for treatment because even the hospitals and medical facilities were not spared from the Jewish carnage. Yet many more thousands kept living under the open skies in the dark and cold. They have no place to live.

The Coalition for Human Rights & Democracy in Bangladesh also urges the wealthy countries and the United Nations to assist the needy people in Gaza. According to the UN, severe water shortages in Gaza following Israel’s total blockade of the enclave have “become a matter of life and death.”
